Why Vaccine Passports Are Not Going Anywhere
If you thought Vax Passports were over — think again — they're just getting started.
In Bali, Indonesia at the G20 summit, there were discussions on many topics. The ongoing War in Ukraine. Climate Change. Biodiversity. Energy. You name it. With all of these topics, it’s hard to cut to the chase — so don’t let one very important subject slip by.
The below excerpt (red annotations overlaid) from the “G20 Bali Leaders’ Declaration” deserves a lot of attention and scrutiny. There are references to other documents and organizations that are up to something…and yes, there’s an Ukraine connection. Below the excerpt you’ll find a breakdown of these topics.
“We recognize that the extensive COVID-19 immunization is a global public good.”
Ok — that’s fine..nothing new. Some of us may see it as a dangerous global public harm, but we can all agree to disagree. Because some of us are not going to take the injection, under any circumstances, with the currently available data (or lack thereof) on the long-term safety ramifications of these technologies.
“Acknowledging the adoption of the Ministerial Declaration on the WTO Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and Preparedness for Future Pandemics”
Here’s the doc.
Basically, they say that “least developed countries” need intellectual property restrictions lifted so that they can get COVID-19 therapeutics [vaccines] and tests because equity.
“Ministerial Decision on the TRIPS Agreement at the WTO’s 12th Ministerial Conference (MC12)”
Here’s the doc.
The gist is that its a cooperative framework for lesser developed countries to get access to COVID-19 vaccines and other public health crises.
[Skipping a few lines..]
“Global pathogen surveillance”
This must be in reference to a process that works something like…
“Are you sick? Are you immunized? Can you prove the latter?”
Wouldn’t it be so convenient if you could just wave your immunization QR code at border controls when traveling internationally? How about when entering a grocery store?
The range of outcomes on this one can vary widely from location to location.
WHO mRNA Vaccine Technology Transfer Hub
Here’s the site.
It’s in South Africa.
“We acknowledge the importance of shared technical standards and verification methods, under the framework of the IHR (2005), to facilitate seamless international travel, interoperability, and recognizing digital solutions and non-digital solutions, including proof of vaccinations. We support continued international dialogue and collaboration on the establishment of trusted global digital health networks as part of the efforts to strengthen prevention and response to future pandemics, that should capitalize and build on the success of the existing standards and digital COVID-19 certificates."
The G20 discussed “trusted global digital health networks”.
“Capitalize and build on the success of the existing standards and digital COVID-19 certificates.”
YIKES
“We acknowledge the importance to counter disinformation campaigns, cyber threats, online abuse, and ensuring security in connectivity infrastructure. We remain committed to further enable data free flow with trust and promote cross-border data flows. We will advance a more inclusive, human-centric, empowering, and sustainable digital transformation. We also reaffirm the role of data for development, economic growth and social well-being.”
They know what the disinformation campaigns are, can identify them, and want to stamp them out.
This choice of language is eerily reminiscent of the verbiage used inside the United States as the “domestic war on terror” narrative continues to gain traction. It’s almost as if these disparate groups are in sync on this topic.
And, as always, there’s a Ukraine connection:
